Not that I haven't been crafty, I just haven't had time to write about it. Got my sister's baby quilt done, some soldering projects done. But anyway, the topic of the day is my "Grandma" jacket. I blogged about it quite a while ago.... I found a cute pattern using recycled blue jeans, and started conceptualizing a jacket that reminded me of my Grandma Helen, and spending time at her house when I was little. As a matter of fact, I even got the pieces cut out in February, before our whirl-wind trips to London and Dublin-- but, of course, we got back and things got busy, so there they sat. Well, Grandma Helen died yesterday, just a few months shy of her 91st birthday. She's had Alzheimer's disease for years, and my jacket is a way of remembering what she herself had forgotten. So I'll be spending tomorrow in my studio, making that jacket up to wear to her calling hours. We'll see how it actually turns out....
Jenny, I'm so sorry for the loss of your grandmother. But it sounds like she lived a long and memorable life. Blessings to you and your family.
