Well, we're trying to entice some "newbies" to make ATC's in our Craft Therapy Yahoo Group (feel free to join in!)... so I'm putting it out for all. If you're a quilter, try making a super-teeny quilt, with embellishments of your choice... if you're a card-maker/scrapbooker, try one made of stamps, patterned papers, etc. There are no rules: just the size limit of 2 1/2" X 3 1/2" inches. (you can even work on top of a baseball card, but please, make sure it's not valuable first!!)
For paper, I personally I like cereal-box cardboard... it's a great thickness. Paint, stamp, collage, decoupage, sticker,or otherwise embellish. It's just a small bit of art! (So if you're a card maker, treat it like a little mini-card, and you don't even have to think of what to write inside!!! Take a look at Lisa Vollraths' tutorial for inspiration!
For fabric, I like Pellon or Timtex, but left-over cotten batting is great, and works for foundation-piecing. It's fun to make a min-block, or use a cool focus fabric, with a few beads for embelllishment, or sew on a charm or button or bit of lace...then fuse on a back and stitch over the edges...the ArtDoll site has a great step-by-step tutorial as well.
So, jump in! The swap is make one, get one... (or more). Sign up at the group by June 30, send them to me by July 15th. (Theres a database in that section of the group- look on the left hand side, and click through to enter your info in.) I"ll swap them out ASAP. Come play, and craft on!
And don't forget to look at the ATC album, over there in the right margin. Click on the photos for the larger size and descriptions...cheers!
